My name is Akahay. I live at Harmal, Pernem. After passing X th class, I joined St. Francis Xavier Higher Secondary School, Siolim. Understanding my financial situation our Principal told me to apply for scholarship from Indian Students Educational Aid Foundation.
My father is a barber and he was earning a very small amount, which was not sufficient to meet my educational expenditure. My mother is housewife and my elder sister was working in the factory as a labourer. After the interview I was selected for the scholarship. It was a big relief for me and my parents. This was in the year 2011 and from then till I complete my education I was provided scholarship. My education was sponsored by Mr. Frank Wersebe. I completed my engineering course in shipbuilding from Institute of Ship Building Technology – Vasco, Goa. Presently I am working as production engineer for Victoria Shipbuilding & Engineering – Vasco.
