Darshana lives at Verla, Bardez. When she failed IX th class she felt very sad and thought she won‟t be able to do any work other than a domestic help. But it was her teacher who told her about Keerti Vidyalaya Private ITI which has been running home nursing course for last twenty five years. Darshana joined the course and found that that it was her line. Her teacher Madam Cynthia gave special attention to her and she developed lot of interest in the subject. While training in the hospital and old age home she actively participated.
She was registered in the Home Nursing Bureau run by ISEAF and is presently working for a patient by name Sushila Naik who stays at Housing Board, Mapusa. Darshana says “I like this job which gives me lot of satisfaction and a very good salary. I am proud that I earn my own living and I can even support my family
