I live at Bicholim. I belong to a very poor family. My father Prakash works as a casual labourer and my mother Prashanti is a housewife. However they managed to send me up to higher secondary school for education. After passing XIIth class, I wanted to become a nurse. But my subject was arts and I could not go for nursing course which needs science. My teacher told me about Home Nursing Course conducted in Keerti Vidyalaya Private ITI and I decided to try my luck. Fortunately I was selected. I completed my course and I was registered as a home nurse in ISEAF’s Home Nursing Bureau. Presently I am working for a patient at Arambol, Pernem called Angelina Fernandes. My patient is bedridden but I am very happy that I can look after her very well. Though our course is of one year duration we were taught everything what a nurse is required. I am grateful to my teacher Madam Cynthia who showed a lot of patience and taught us everything a nurse is supposed to be.
