Sanam Vilas Betkar
Sanam lives at Siolim. Her father died when she was a student of VIIth Std. Her mother was a house wife and she did not have any income. Her two older sisters were also students. Her mother was getting a small amount from the government as widow pension. This amount was not sufficient; hence her mother Vandana worked in two houses as domestic help and earned some money. Sanam was selected for ISEAF scholarship. After the XIIth class, she did a two-year teacher’s training course called Diploma in Education. Presently she is working as a teacher in a prestigious school in Goa. She remembers her sponsor Mrs. Burgle Block for all the good things she has done for her.
